Elsa L. Furia
Elsa's art career officially began when she sold her very first drawing at the age of ten.
It was sold to a sibling, for one penny, from her studio under the basement stairs.
She later took the drawing back, in order to keep her inventory well stocked.
She has since re-evaluated her business model.

While taking art lessons as a teenager from Pittsburgh artist Becky Mayhew,
Elsa's passion and ability flourished. Art was the only one of her many extracurricular
activities that she did not have to be reminded to practice. Although Elsa chose to study
interior design rather than fine art at Kent State University, she continued to draw for enjoyment.
Several years worth of interior design work later, after becoming a wife and then a mother,
Elsa decided to set out on her own as a fine artist. She specializes in acrylic paintings
and pencil or pen drawings. Historical homes, city-scapes, and the wilderness
are some of her favorite themes to draw or paint.
Fun Facts:
Elsa will not build a snowman.
She chooses some shade of green 95% of the time.
Her favorite painters are Norman Rockwell and Robert Griffing.
Her favorite children's book illustrators are Jan Brett and Kinuko Y. Craft.
She sold her first painting when she was fourteen, through her art teacher's gallery.
She gains the most inspiration from Estes Park, Colorado and Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.
She used to organize her food into pictures as a child, and thus her parents knew she was destined for art.
